I especially love Jackson necks, and the Dean V necks.
I Like just about all necks, and I get along with most any neck. I have large hands and so even the fat ones work for me, but I prefer the aforementioned.

Some things just work better for some than others. The shallow LP top carve was to save money but I find that more comfortable than the ‘right’ carve against my forearm.

In addition, certain MM models have an asymmetric carve to the neck, where more wood is shaved off the lower side (originally developed for the EVH Axis) - very, very playable.

Yes, I believe the Axis and EVH models do. Mine, a Silhouette Special and an SUB1, don't, though.

I too like the 70s Norlin necks, I also prefer 60s Slim Taper, Fender modern C, and the Soft V on my friends Fender Custom Shop Thinline Nocaster

A thick C neck is my preference but with with a narrow nut & string spacing,took a little work to get used to the string spacing but the upshot is easier thumb over the neck access.
I just can't get on with wide flat fretboards and/or 'skinny' necks they just fatigue my hand after 10 minutes

Yeah, I have the Reflex and it’s asymmetric - though just recently played an Axis (for the first time) and the carve is more pronounced than on my Reflex (my number one, so tough to beat)

In general C shaped necks with a radius roughly around 10"-12" and a narrow nut (41mm-42mm) is what I find most comfortable to play.
Have a couple of Hamer madels that are very comfy. Also like the thin Jackson necks I've tried.
I always hated V shaped necks until I tried a Musicman L3 which I think is the nicest neck I have ever played. It has a very soft V, but I guess I haven't played too many V shaped necks.
By far the least comfortable neck I have ever played is the wizard shape. Too wide at the nut and the combination of that, a really thin neck and the enormous radius makes cramping a problem.
Is the wizard considered a D shape?
No idea what would be considered a U.

The specs of the neck that feels most comfortable to me -found amongst the Ibanez Art series - are:
- C shape
- 43 mm nut width
- 12" radius
I also can get along with modern fender necks.

I can get along with almost any neck shape. The exceptions are Les Paul style guitars and other guitars with thin necks. I can't play a Les Paul shaped guitar with a too thick neck. Those are too difficult for me to play comfortably. Too thin necks make my thumb hurt.

I like the biggest fattest of Les Paul necks, around what is on a 58 or 59. I have an Epiphone LP from around 2010 and the neck is big and fat and I love it, but the new Epi Lp's have a weird skinny neck that kind of sucks.

I'm not super picky about neck shapes, and happily get along with most of them. But the neck needs to be 1 11/16th at the nut.
Also, am I crazy or do thinner necks sound warmer? I swear that the biggest and chunkiest necks I've played all make the guitar sound brighter. Thinner necks give a softness to the highs (especially on strats and telecasters) that I like.
