Your Favorite Signature Gear

Re: Your Favorite Signature Gear

One of the best guitars I've ever owned is my Gibson ES-335 Chris Cornell model, which came with aged nickel hardware and Lollartrons. I rarely buy guitars brand new, but the fact that I got a great deal on it, and it's #4, made me pull the trigger. It will only go up in value, especially since Chris has #1 and #2.

My most recent guitar is the Elliot Easton Tikibird. It sounds and plays great. IMO, it's the best version of a Firebird.

I've also got the Bonamassa wah/fuzz copper set and Eric Johnson and Hendrix Fuzz Faces.

Betcha never seen an SE Racing PK Ripper signed by Perry Kramer. I built it, got it signed, and gave it to my step son.
It's the bike everyone wanted in the 80's but very few were lucky enough to have one.

This is a weird one, but 100% honest, the "Lee Malia LP Custom", which is really just a Les Paul Artisan remake with a different pickup configuration. The strange thing is that Lee Malia is a nu metal rhythm guitarist in a band nobody has ever heard of, so a) he's not especially befitting of a signature model, b) the aesthetic doesn't reflect his genre, and c) there's nothing overly customized about this guitar. But it's an awesome guitar and it was a great price. Like many Epiphones, the frets were dull and scratchy, easily fixed though.

I had an LTD SC-207, Stephan Carpenter model 7 string but I have a hard enough time with 6 strings so I dumped it.

I do have a Wayne's World Edition Squire Strat. Does that count?

I remember when you got that, it's got a really cool aesthetic. I love the "not quite satin" finish, the filtertrons, everything. Definitely an awesome guitar.

G&L Cantrell Rampage. The only thing wrong with it is the signature on the headstock. Other than that, it's a perfectly bit-chin guitar. I own the import model.

Gibson B.B. King Lucille. My favorite Gibson archtop ever made. Great collection of features, and killer looks.

Gibson Barney Kessel. Awesome looking archtop.

Gibson Krist Novoselic RD Bass. I played one in Guitar Center, and loved it. I really wanted to get one, but I didn't have the money at the time.

Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster. Pretty darned good "modern/vintage" style factory guitar. I've owned a few over the years.

Fender Dave Murray Stratocaster. Great factory hot-rodded vintage Strat. Want one...but probably will build my own instead.

I like all of these because of the instruments that they are; it has nothing to do with the names on them.

I thought the same thing about it being a really interesting design considering the band. I really don't care for BMTH, but I do love the style of that guitar. Same thing goes for Zach Meyers of Shinedown and his signature PRS. Those dudes can make some really good looking axes, if nothing else.

My fave signature gear... my own pickups made by High Order pickups!

Re: Your Favorite Signature Gear

It's actually a design from the 70's. It makes you wonder if the guy really had anything to do with it

I know it is, but he had to suggest, or at least approve the design. I guess all I'm saying is he has good (similar to my) taste.

I think he did. I saw his rig rundown and his boat was filled with quirky Gibson guitars so I think this was to replace that guitar and Gibson thought more than just him would like it.

Gibson's Johnny A signature is an awesome guitar. I'd be happy playing one regularly . . . they're a little out of my price range though.

Re: Your Favorite Signature Gear

I really like my Peavey 5150 and Kramer Elliot Easton Pacer Custom I Flip Flop Blue Mutt with Seymour Duncan Custom Shop RTM Trembucker.

Best sig gear ever?

I have a Kenny Wayne Shepherd strat. Nice features. Big neck. Wish it had a maple board.

But I would have to say EVH. Every single piece of gear I have owned with his name on it is good, to downright stellar.

Cab, Speakers, Strings, Pedals and an old Wolfgang I owned. Excellent stuff.
