Your Favorite TOP-END Guitar Company?

Say if you wanted to spend $750-$1500. What company would you turn to?

I was set on a Gibson Flying V, but now, I'm looking towards Jackson's RR-1.

Just thought I'd see what company you guys trust.

Re: Your Favorite TOP-END Guitar Company?

BTW - I'm looking for a (pretty strictly) metal axe. So try to think of the company's options for metal. Thanks.

Re: Your Favorite TOP-END Guitar Company?

Here in the States, Custom guitars from trustworthy companies sell for ridiculous amounts of money that only Microsoft employees can afford...or in that case, anyone willing to sell a car.

Re: Your Favorite TOP-END Guitar Company?

If I ever come into some cash  I think I'd have ConklinGuitars
build me something with some exotic woods :32:

Re: Your Favorite TOP-END Guitar Company?

ESP.

Fender.

Gibson (used).

Ibanez.

BC Rich (you did say metal).

For $1500 there's an aweful lot of options available.

Guitarist, check out Wayne, or ESP (NOT LTD).
Yeah, I am. I steer far away from LTD, however, there was one mid range priced one that I did like. The EC-1000 Deluxe Series LTD. Very nice, but not what I'm looking for.

ESP wise, I got my eyes on the Horizon Custom. Talk about sexy... Having some trouble finding it for a reasonable price on eBay though...

Re: Your Favorite TOP-END Guitar Company?

If you're talking top end gear then 1500 isn't going to cut it unless you can find something used. My Grosh was 1400 and it blows away every guitar I've played so far.

Re: Your Favorite TOP-END Guitar Company?

Jackson USA. I like the late 90's versions without the bird beak headstock.

The good ESP's

Used Les Paul Std

Brian Moore

PRS McCarty used

GMP used

Don't overlook the G&L Invaders. I took a chance buying mine off Ebay, and soon realized that the quality I got was equal to Suhr, Grosh, and Tom Anderson. It's becoming one of my very favorite guitars.

Re: Your Favorite TOP-END Guitar Company?

I would go gibson all the way. I would love to one day own a thunderbird bass *drools* the chris your icon is f-ing hardcore

Re: Your Favorite TOP-END Guitar Company?

<<cough cough>> USA Jackson <<cough cough>>

A million 80's metal band guitar players can't be wrong. But, you can put me in the "birdbeak headstock" camp... good for chipping concrete and scratching your back in a pinch.

I haven't played Wayne or ESP guitars, but I'm guessing they're great choices also.

Re: Your Favorite TOP-END Guitar Company?

In that price range I would build a Warmoth. With bigger budget I'd look at Hamer, PRS and maybe Driskell.
