Re: Your favorite warm neck tone!?

Warm and clean or warm with OD? Clean it's a toss up between the Phat Cat in my Sheraton or the APH in my Carvin. With OD it's again between the APH and the PG in my Lester.

Re: Your favorite warm neck tone!?

the warmest neck tone i have is the antiquity neck pickup in my tele. It is warm but never muddy.

Re: Your favorite warm neck tone!?

my QP flat in the neck in of my strat. Always warm, beefy as hell, and never muddy.

Re: Your favorite warm neck tone!?

I'd have to say the Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II is about as good as it gets for me as far as neck tone is concerned. There are lots of great pickups out there (Including G&L MFD's, strat and tele pickups) but I'll go with a good fat humbucker every time.
Take care.

Re: Your favorite warm neck tone!?

The Seth Lover in the neck position of my Les Paul does it for me. Gotta have 500k audio taper pots though! It's warm, smooth, bright and clear all at once. Absolutely beautiful. :)

Re: Your favorite warm neck tone!?

I guess I'd have to say the 59, since I have it in the neck of two guitars.

Of course, there's still a bunch I haven't tried yet. ;)

Re: Your favorite warm neck tone!?

Another vote for the Seth Lover tho mine is in my semi hollowbody Hamer Monoco.

Overall, my fave neck pickup would be a great vintage alnico 5 Strat NECK pickup...like Eric Johnson uses.

Or the tone Wes Montgomery got from the a5 60's Gibson humbucker in his L-5.

I'll take my Strat Texas Hot Antiquity/neck for warmth. I've always loved neck pickups in Strats....great stuff for blues.

I gotta second the Seth Neck. I like the 59, too, but the Seth has more warmth, and a beautiful organic quality to it. Never underestimate the output of a Seth. They sit side by side with any Custom type, and the sustain beats all the Duncan neck pickups. Just sings for days. Very Robben Ford, although he uses 59's. CC/Seth is a great, great combo. I like C-5/59 equally. My two main Pauls have those combos.

Re: Your favorite warm neck tone!?

JB used in the neck, hand´s down. Can get real close to mud if you´re not careful, and is way higher output than most would like. But to my ears, it´s plain perfect  ;)

Re: Your favorite warm neck tone!?

A2Pro humbucker is the warmest I've tried. The Seth is real warm also, but has some more sparkle or complexity to it. The Phat Cat has an amazingly warm tone for a single coil.

Re: Your favorite warm neck tone!?

I tend to get a tad too bassy with the 59n in my Paul. Don't get me wrong, a great tone, but just not exactly what I consider to be superb. I get a singing tone from a USA Jackson Soloist's 59n though. Same with the Ibanez Jem Steve Vai model with the Dimarzio PAF. Awesome.
