How bout a vote for a DR. Z Maz JR? I didn't see my favorite up there, so I'm adding Dr. Z amps.
Also, and this is an honest to God real question, am I missing some secret about Fender amps? I've never heard an old Fender that didn't sound farty and flabby in the low end, muddy on the top end, and in general sounded like ass, unless it was drowned in their "famous" reverb. I suspect that the Fender sound is most associated with blues because they were so mass-produced they became the most "common" sound and not necessarily the best. I've heard a couple of nice modded Fenders, but by no means did they leave the factory that way.
Now, don't anybody get too offended just yet, I've owned several Fenders, and they kind of have a unique sound, but could it be called "the best." I'm not sure about that. I think they're are much better amps in the price range of the reissue bassman.
