Re: Your favourite trem type?

Well, sorry about what i wrote about FR's, atleast the floyds i've tried didn't work well. They must have been copies or something.

On my ****ty piece of crap ibenhaad (there, i said it) :D, no matter how i adjust the trem, how many springs i use or what strings i put on it, i can't bend a note, since the trem always compensates for the added string tension.

Again, sorry, i should have been thinking about what i wrote.

Ok? :)

Re: Your favourite trem type?

I just bend the neck on my Tele.

Seriously though, I like the fact that my Wilkinson sounds almost as good as a vintage style strat trem and has almost as much travel as a Floyd. It's a good compromise, I think.

Re: Your favourite trem type?

Vintage Fender style trem. I have a Gotoh on my Don Grosh and it's great. I absolutely loathe Floyd Rose trems because they're ugly as sin, take up half the guitar, and are too complicated for me to figure out.

Re: Your favourite trem type?

Thats cool, Zerb, i was just a bit stressed when i made the posts about FR's anyway. BTW, if you really feel guilty :D, you can help me a bit about guitar tubes at my Valve\Tube thread :D:D:D

Ok?

Re: Your favourite trem type?

I voted for Floyd trem. I've heard they kill sustain but today I made a serious test about this and I just couldn't get my guitar stop screaming. It was screaming for about a whole minute under heavy distortion untill I had to stop it myself cause I got bored!!!!!!!!

Re: Your favourite trem type?

Un recessed floyd, everything has to go attached to the body.... i get a lot of good tone from that situation...

Re: Your favourite trem type?

vintage strat trem, flat on the body with 5 springs, graphite nut & saddles, & locking tuners

Re: Your favourite trem type?

I've only got one guitar and it has a non recessed Floyd. It felt awkward at first but now I love it. I learnt to be patient while tuning and I have no problems with it. I just added a 4th spring and hopefully I'll notice an increase on sustain... But it stays in tune perfectly. Floyds aren't perfect but nothing is and learning how to cope with it is a real challenge (repeats to self: do not palm mute or tune while resting your hand on the bridge)

Re: Your favourite trem type?

Hmm.

No one has mentioned the Parker Fly Trem.

So, I will.

That is one of the smoothest feeling trems I've ever used.

The spring plate design is way better than standard coil springs.
The trem can be fixed, floating, or just bend down.
Fly wheel allows you to adjust the amount of tension feel you prefer.

Re: Your favourite trem type?

The higher-end "Ibeenhad" tremolos are as good, if not better, than Original Floyds. True, the TRS series tremolos are horrible, but the Edges are awesome.

Re: Your favourite trem type?

Hardtail :laugh2:

Actually I'd have to say that if I had to use a trem I'd prefer a Floyd set up for down-only operation.

Re: Your favourite trem type?

does the parker trem really works? i mean that do you can really do dives and still be in tune...

Re: Your favourite trem type?

I like unrecessed Floyds, they werent designed to be recessed. Hmmm...
You know those fender two point trems, could you replace that with a locking trem? Would it fit the posts. Just curious

Re: Your favourite trem type?

Yeah thats one hell of a question, i was wondering that too, do you have one of those Fender´s?
