Dano convertible reissue $25

The one I let get away was last night. Taylor 314ce in like new condition, $795

Re: Your Greatest Gear Deal?

A Bogner XTC for less than $2300 can be the rock/metal score of a lifetime. I got the 32nd Ecstasy for $2175. It's been my main amp since 2001.

I snagged a Bogner Ecstacy head and Uberschall 4x12 cab for $1800. Figured I'd sell the Uber cab for $800 and keep the Ecstacy for the ridiculous price of $1000. Consequently, the Uber cab isn't going anywhere. It sounds amazing! I am keeping my eyes peeled for an early white chassis Ecstacy that I could trade into. I really want the switchable cab feature and even the attenuator loop.

Also, got an extremely rare Bogner Caveman, number 35, for $1000. Needed a headshell and tubes, but Jorge at Bogner hooked it up. That amp is my favorite Bogner to date.

Re: Your Greatest Gear Deal?

Nothing too great of a steal, but I was able to get a brand new Eastman E8D for $625 which is quite a bit lower than you can even find them used. Right now it's my main acoustic guitar, so I consider it a deal.

Re: Your Greatest Gear Deal?

$50 and a Korg Pandora for my USA Peavey Predator
$400 for my '87 USA Standard Strat
$300 for my Eastman MD315 mandolin

Also... I think theodie sold me my USA Peavey Foundation bass for well under $100 shipped. I miss that dude.

Don't sell that Bogner Caveman. That was going to be a Bogner flagship, but the cost to manufacture was too high, so it was discontinued. Decades from now, the Caveman will be a huge collectible.

Great score on that halfstack. I think early Bogner amps with symbol serial numbers will be future gems.

Re: Your Greatest Gear Deal?

$199 for a Hamer EchoTone semi-hollow. What a sweet guitar that was. The previous owner had a pro setup done on it. Played like butter. That's one I didn't want to let go but had to unfortunately.

Re: Your Greatest Gear Deal?

Korg G1, won in a competition in 1995, still recording many solos with that:

Korg AX3000G, from my friend Werdy, it was like:
"I have found this brick for 5 bucks during a flea market walk. Is it capable of some good sounds?"
"Most certainly."
"It's yours, then."
"For what?"
"For playing good."

AMT P1, received for free with an endorsement deal after I sent an e-mail saying thanks for creating the M1. Sergei asked about the bands I play, I sent him some samples and he sent me this pedal. How cool of him is that?

Seymour Duncan CC + PG1N, during the Holiday Cheers Giveaway a couple of years ago:

It was received during my hardest year. I lost people, lost job, lost the woman too and also totally lost the direction in general. This set of pickups was like candlelight in the darkness. Since that my life had a turn for good.

Bones, Will S-T and Evan - I have you guys in mind every time I play this axe and I play it very often.

1st runner up: I bought a V30 loaded Lee Jackson Era Ampeg 4×12 for just under $200 about 8 years ago, but I got stolen

Winner: in 2002 I bought a Gibson Nikki Sixx Blackbird bass. It had an MSRP of $2150 and street price of $1750. I bought on closeout sale from Musician's Friend for $750.

Re: Your Greatest Gear Deal?

Some good deals recently....a '91 "The Rat" for $50, an unused 36" pedal case with 3 10' monster cable guitar cables and several other cheaper cables/a fender shorty guitar stand/ and a Crybaby wah for $50. But probably my best scores were my Sunn Beta Lead 4x10 combo for $150, and my Ibanez SZR720 for $125. The pawn shops around here usually know what they have and price accordingly, but due to the Ibanez having no model name or number on it, Just "Ibanez" on the headstock, they were selling it as "unknown model".

Oh, and I got my OR-15 for $350. It was still fairly new.
