Hey, I just bought a dean ml xm and now before it gets here I gots nuthin better to do than sit around and picture what exactly I'm going to do with it (If anything).

To get an example of what I am trying to accomplish with this...
I personally play and record Music somewhere between classic and modern hard rock. (Stryper, Van halen, Metalica, Skillet....don't know how else to describe I don't really listen to bands but my sound is somewhere in that vicinity)
I Play Modern Praise and Worship at my church which can mean a really "pop" sound or smooth overdrive lead and sometimes a big balanced crunch sound.
I also am joining a band that plays classic rock, blues, and (gasp) even a little country.
The guitar is made of Paulownia wood finished with mohagany.
I don't know how that shapes the sound...
Anyways, I am going to check out the stock pups but if that doesn't work out I think I've narrowed this down to the JB and the Distortion (for the BRIDGE)
I was also thinking about the pots, I know both JB and DD can sound better with pots under 500k. but is there any difference between useing 250 or 300k pots as opposed to just turning down the tone knob on a 500k pot guitar?? I am curious.
Anyways, let me know your thoughts...
