Your top 5 amplifiers!

Since there's similar discussions with pickups and guitars, why not?
I'll give my inexperienced, amateur, never-had-a-tube-amp-but-I've-played-some list later on.

Go!

Re: Your top 5 amplifiers!

Amps that have worked very well for me, in no particular order...

Fender SF Twin
Marshall JCM 800 (early model)
Hiwatt DR504
Fender 1968 Bassman
Fender Super 60 Bandmaster (a red knob tube Fender)

Re: Your top 5 amplifiers!

1973/1974 50w Marshall 1987
Late 70s/early 80s JMP/800 Marshall 2204 50w
late 50s tweed deluxe or tweed twin

what else do you really need? :D

For modern amps, I really dig the Rivera Venus 3/6 and the MESA Stiletto

That makes 5, I believe.

Re: Your top 5 amplifiers!

My Top Five Amps
Marshall Jcm800
Engl Powerball II
Mesa Boogie Mark V
Hughes and Kettner Triamp MkII
Laney TT100h

Re: Your top 5 amplifiers!

Fender Deluxe Reverb
Laney vc30 2x12
Vox ac15
Roland JC 120 (I'm not into transistor amps, but this one is pretty cool. It was a giant in 80's "alternative" music and afropop)

Re: Your top 5 amplifiers!

Soldano Decatone
Mesa Blue Angel
Marshall 2550
Matchless DC30
Mesa Single Rec

Re: Your top 5 amplifiers!

In no order
Mesa boogie mark IV
Mesa Boogie Mark V
Matchless Clubman
Bogner ecstasy
Orange rockerverb

Re: Your top 5 amplifiers!

In strictly alphabetical order;
Fender Hot Rod Deville 410
Fender Super Champ (owned it since 1983)
Marshall Dynamic Bass System 7400, 7210, 7115 stack
MESA Boogie Simul-Class Mark 3, hardwood cab (Not mine but I'm working on that!)
MESA/Boogie Quad pre-amp (various power amps at different times)

Re: Your top 5 amplifiers!

Marshall JCM800--The best tone I ever heard was a Big Muff original big box into one of these.
Fryette Sig:X -- Unbelievable versatility, dynamics, and tone.
Jet City JCA20H for what it is. Not comparable to the big boys, but as far as low watt tone machines go, it's quite good.
Marshall JVM. Nothing really like the Marshall roar, and this delivers it in more ways than I can count.
Fender Deluxe Reverb. It didn't become legendary for no reason. It's really impressive too.

I don't have tremendous experience with that many amps, but these have impressed me more than any others I've played. I've never had the chance to play a Mesa, and based on what I've read hear from guys whose ears I trust, that's the only reason at least one of those is not on the list.

Re: Your top 5 amplifiers!

80's Fender Concert II (rivera designed)
Fender VibroChamp (best trem I've ever heard in an amp)
Fender BF and/or SF Bassman (I've dug every version I've played, and Currently love the Bassman 70 I own)
Roland JC-120
Randall RG-100 classic

Re: Your top 5 amplifiers!

1970 or so Hiwatt 50 watter---unbelievable amp, but long gone
'59 5E5A Pro---my old buddy, great cleans or greasy as h**l.
'60 3x10 Bandmaster---my main live amp for most things
early 70's Ampeg GU-12---great little 1x12" combo, very gig-worthy, records great
'66 Twin Reverb---one of the good ones, on the road with me for 5 years.

Re: Your top 5 amplifiers!

I would love to have these
