I'm thinking either a Custom/JB hybrid, or a single-coil sized Full Shred.
Since the Custom/JB hybrid would be easy to make myself, I think I'll go with the later.

I can't make the trip either :blackeye:, if I was going I'd probably do something like a gold covered stacked phat cat calibrated for the middle pos., possibly alnico 5 too (for an ongoing project that hasn't even started yet!)

Keep in mind, if you spec your pickup with a certain EQ curve, like "bass-5, mids-4.5, treble-6," you're using subjective criteria, and you'll probably be disappointed. Why? Because different people hear pickups differently.
Also, if you get too specific about a d.c. resistance spec, like "one coil 7.285KOhms and the other coil 6.329874KOhms," you're probably going to be disappointed too. It would take MJ all day and many winding tries to hit that spec. And then when you got it home, your meter would read it differently than ours. And you'd feel ripped off.
Also, some things, like a white Dimebucker, just can't be done (as you noted) because we'd have to make a minimum of 50,000 white bobbins from our injection mold just to get your white one.
So... the bottom line is: dream big. But keep it real.

It´s too bad I can´t make it, i was gonna do something a bit crazy, an Idea I´ve had floating around in my head for a while....I´m thinking the final specs would have ended up something like this (in case it get´s confusing, think of it as 2 single coils wound together as a humbucker, with "booster" magnets under the coils)
Standard trembucker (not PA), black, exposed.
DC Res: >20k, coils unbalanced (possibly around 9k and 14 or something).....
2 oversize magnets, but NO magnet in the middle. Think Dirty Fingers or Invader w/o the center magnet
A5 magnetic slugs in the slug coil, and use a small ceramic magnet instead of the standard metal "retainer" for the screw-poles (this I´d have had custom made at work and brought with me, or maybe a Lil series magnet could be modified accordingly....)
Steel baseplate if possible

I don´t really have a special tone that I´m trying to hit, this is actually more of a "what would this end up sounding like" thing.
