once you over wind a PAF that far, wax pot it, and put a full strength magnet in it, it is NOTHING like an Antiquity...take away the aged look and it's just a real hot 59 with an Alnico II bar magnet...

Mine will be a take off of the Slash pup.
Antiquity baseplate, bobbins and spacers. Overwound to approx 9-9.5k, wax potted with new nickel cover, double cream bobbins. I want this pup to have nice lows, slightly more mids and smooth highs. Not too hot, just right.

I'd also add staggered coil windings (5k and 3k) if I could get away with it without suffering an EQ change.
Or I might opt for non-wax potting...it would go in my neck so I shouldn't have to worry about squeel at all.
Something like that...I'm racking my brain to figure it out, I'm pretty sure it'll be almost 8k too.

I'm finally officially going! Whoo hoo! As far as the pup, I'm really torn between a Tele sized, vintage hot strat sounding neck or some form of an Antiquity humbucker. I really liked JeffH's idea on the hb, it sounds like just what I'm looking for an bridge pup.

OK, here's the deal. E-mail Maricela with your pickup spec. She told me to tell you that, if you want to take your pickup with you on UGD, it has to be based on one of our standard single coil or humbucker pickups. So, any Strat, Tele, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Duo-Sonic, Mustang, Jazz Bass, P-Bass, P-90, Mini-humbucker or full-size humbucker or Trembucker is fine.
Also, it would help if you reference a stock SD pickup in your description, for example, a 10K Stag Mag. Someone asked for that pickup already and she said it's no problem. See my earlier post in this thread for more guidelines.
Make sure to get her your pickup request no later than April 15 to make sure she's done the prep work on it.
Have at it!
