Youtube certainly allow for high quality audio. Some clips are really good, and a lot of songs are there with just the audio obviously from a CD and then some pics.
From my observation the major problem here is that people are not willing to go through the trouble of re-synchronizing a high quality audio recording with the video and then choose to simply use the audio recording as done by the camera. That can mean an external microphone but obviously in many cases it does not. Even when using a dedicated microphone on a DSLR now you have it away from the amp.
It is a far cry from properly micing an amp.
