Zakk wylde pedal

Any of you guys kno about this, or ever try it, cuz man, when i heard the dirty i felt i gotta ask you guys if this is worth the cash cuz im a huge Wylde Fan so yah Have any of you dudes tryed it, and is it any g00d?

Why buy his "sig. pedal" when you can use the same exact thing he uses for much cheaper. All he does is run a Boss SD-1 through his cranked Marshall. No need for another overrated signature pedal from MXR (I'm just bitter because the Double Shot was the worst purchase I ever made and it had the circuitry from the "Dime" pedal... however, the Crybaby Dime wah rules :bigok: ).

I know he uses the Boss overdrive but do you think he now uses his MXR pedal? One must practice what they preach unless they are a sell-out.

its brand new, so everybodyll have to look for it onstage at ozzfest to see if he really uses it. from what i heard from other people, its like the sd-1 but it doesnt color the sound as much, and sounds better overall.

He'll probebly have his other guitarist Nick use it... just like the ZW JCM800 signature heads. Zakk doesnt use them, Nick does.

Zakk uses the MXR now. He did used to use the Boss and I can't imagine that any overdrive wouldn't sound great boosting the front of a cranked JCM 800 2203. If you want his tone your gonna have to have a Les Paul and get either his sig head or a used one of the above and crank it. On a budget, I would either get a Marshall JCM 2000 combos or better yet save your cash and call Trace at voodooamps.com and let him know exactly what you are looking for (song, album, that Detroit live DVD which is great) and he will build you something cheap. I got an 18 watt plexi clone that I can use as a head or a 1x12 that I asked to sound as close to Pagey's tone on The Song... It's nuts on. $600.00 shipped to my door. Whens the last time you cranked a plexi in your living room... :dance:

Why would Zakk use the Signature heads, when he could use the ones the Signature heads are modeled from?

The Wylde Overdrive is a Boss SD-1 circuit with a flatter EQ and true-bypass (the Boss pedal uses a FET buffer). Since the Wylde OD is basically a tricked out SD-1, I see no reason Zakk wouldn't actually use it.

If you want his tone your gonna have to have a Les Paul and get either his sig head or a used one of the above and crank it.

If you want his tone, you need his chops. Zakk would sound like Zakk through a Crate GFX 15w amp.

If you don't want to spring for a Signature head, get a JCM 800 2203 and install a set of 6550 power tubes.

I dunno to me zack is a good player but everything he sues must be signature. It kidna of bothers me thathe has a signature axe,amp,pedals,strings,pickups,picks (probably) etc..... A signature axe is fine but this is just tooo much! Slash has a sign amp and axe, but he doesn't have a sig pedal etc.. just my 2 cents.

Aside from my ranting yes i'd say his gear endorsed by him is probably pretty good usuually its just modded versions of pedals that alrady exist.

Hey I bet if anyone was in this position to have a signature this and that, we would all jump on it. It`s an extra paycheck in the bank everytime someone buys it. Hell, if Haynes offered Zakk a signature underwear he would probably be on it. Of course you know that would mean a bullseye on the nads. :laugh2:

Rather than arguing over whether Zakk is using it or not.... I'd like to actually give my input on the pedal.

I found it to be right bewteen a Boss SD1 and Boss BD2 overdrives, but with just a touch more gain and volume and some additional smoothness. The EQ is set pretty flat and its pretty transparent and cleans up niceley when you back off the volume. Picks up dynamics pretty well too.

Good pedal, IMO

just to make sure i respect zakk alot, and am not attacking him, he just seems to have a bit too much of an overkill on his signature gear. And money is not a huge issue with zakk im guessing after all he is very successful.
