Zebra or reverse zebra?

Which one is which? Which has the cream on the slugs and which has cream on the screws? Hmm. Sounds like this question can be answered in more than one way. :eek13:

Re: Zebra or reverse zebra?

The way we call zebra, the outside coils (adjustable) are the cream coils. And, for us, reverse zebra has the inner coils (non-adjustable) in cream.

This can be confusing since when Gibson made the original zebras in the late 50's they were almost all the other way. The studs were on the cream coil and the screws were on the black. If the screw coil on a real PAF is white/cream so is the stud coil with very very few exceptions.

Anyone know why Seymour switched up the naming?
