Zen noodle

For years I have almost exclusively played guitar>amp. I have collected a few very nice peadals over the recent years but they receiveced very little use. Recently I go off my lazy butt and actually wired a few of my favorites together and I admit I am slowly going over to the dark side!
When I would record before (guitar>amp), I would have to wait for the wife to go out so I could push things enough to get the sustain and feel I wanted.
I was playing around today, the wife in the other room, and thought I would see what type of sound I could record at low volume levels.
I was pleasantly surprised!
PRS Santana>Keeley compressor>Zendrive>two timer analog delay> mesa booge mkIIc+ (on clean channel)

Re: Zen noodle

i LIKE that ... nice single line tone .. then the double stops have nice note interplay while retaining definition .. seems like you perfectly had the 'touch sensitive', 'edge of break up' thing going when you wanted to dig in ... and not so compressed that it lost dynamics - your picking hand changes in attack came thru

i like your note choice too ... tasty phrasing

thanks for sharing it

as always, nice to see your posts

cheers

Re: Zen noodle

Thanks T4D, I always felt the compressor would take away too much "feel". But when playing as quiet as I was when I recorded this I just needed the sustain. I was surprised how well the picking dynamics came through.
I always appreciate your feedback!

Re: Zen noodle

Sounded good! I would like to hear the difference if you took the compressor out of the equation. It was a long day so that relaxed little song was nice to listen to. Thick PRS sound, fantastic bro!
