Zephyr Silver Humbucker

Has anyone dished out the cash for the Zephyr Silver Humbucker? Just wondering who the deep pocket tone chasers are.

I think it exists more as a proof of concept than anything. I doubt they sell too many

same. ive played them, but never owned one. the neck humbucker impressed me more than the other models. they were all good, but the clarity and punch of that neck bucker was amazing

^This was my take, too. In fact, the clarity was a little too clear for me. Sort of a louder Full Shred maybe...not a tone I could use a lot, but I am sure there are people who will love them.

if i played ambient effected music, i think i would like them a lot. even as a blues/rock guy, that neck humbucker was sweet

SD gave me two sets as compensation for work done a decade ago. I like them, but I do not "love" them. I, in fact, put them in the last two LP bodies warmoth made (for me), and I didn't care for the entire mix. Looked great but open coils (if not double cream) is not my look, and the tone was too clean and almost brittle for me to like. The note separation was extreme, to such a degree that it was just not pleasant for me to play through/play with. I ditched the guitars a year ago for pennies on the dollar and I have zero regrets. I don't miss the pickups and don't want them back. I have other pickups I like more. I think the whole silver wire thing is just not for me.

The pickups I associate the most with the Zephyr Silver pickups, is super-low wind filtertrons and widerange buckers. If that's your jam, then the Zephyrs are for you. Otherwise: don't.
