Zoom G2 problems

I bought the Zoom G2 yesterday and so far it is an awesome little pedal when plugged into headphones. Has a lot of great amp sounds and effects and sounds awesome. However, when I plugged it into my line 6 spider 2 amp I cannot get it to sound good or like it does through headphones. I have tried plugging it through a few of the clean channels, but he distortion and acoustic sounds come out horrible no matter what I try. Again if I plug it into headphones it sounds great. Anyone have any tips on how to get this thing to sound through my amp like it does through headphones?

Re: Zoom G2 problems

Plug it to a real tube amp or a tube power amp.

That would be fine except I don't have one and don't intend on buying one just to use the pedal. So anybody know which clean channel settings tend to work best with the multi-effect amp modelers?

Re: Zoom G2 problems

you may hate me for that posting, but it may be just the clean sound
of the spider 2 amp. i was trying out several ss and modeling amps
2 weeks ago and the budget line6 clean channels were a pain for me.

i have played a zoom g2 though a roland micro cube on a jam session
with friends and didn't have any issues with it, using the jc clean

Re: Zoom G2 problems

If the Spider II has an effects loop try plugging into it and just use the power amp section of the amp. This is what I do with my MagicStomp II and it works great. Sound bad through the front :smack: Also try turning off the cabinet modeling on the Zoom. This can sound bad too.

I really like it for the money. It has a ton of useful effects that can all be dialed in to user specs. It sounds really good with headphones and also runs on batteries so works great as portable practice amp too. I just need to figure out the best way to get it to sound good running through my line 6.
