I don't hear Megadeth as being scooped at all. In fact, I'd describe them as pretty mid-heavy. I don't hear these two bands as having the same tones at all, except for the fact that they're both high-gain.

Damn, that's definitely worthy of a punch to the face.
      Why would someone do that?

Try listening to Countdown to Extinction or Rust in Peace.

The remixed and remastered version of Rust In Peace is definitely not scooped.
I've never heard the original mix and master though.

yes; that would somewhat defeat the purpose of purchasing a 16-channel head w/37 valves and 5 gain stages.

When I asked why he wasn't using the amp distortion, he told me he couldn't get it to sound good and liked his Digitech "The Weapon" (Dan Donegan sig) better. Ugh. At least he was playing a Tele...

                    ^^^

Another example of someone who didn't want to take the time to dial in the right tones...

The above brings on a side question is the recto good at taking drive pedals. Say using the clean channel and a more marshall sounding pedal for the occasionally marshall crunch when you don't want the big MESA Dual Rec sound.

All you need is a Roadster (Road King is even better). The Brit mode on channel 2 is a pretty Marshally crunch. No need for a drive pedal to do it either.

                          +1

I run my channel 2 in brit mode with the (2) EL-34 power section and the V30 cab.

                            so in conclusion??? lol...
i think everyone should try every amp that you can get your hands on... some people may like the roadster and some the mark5 and some would prefer another thing... maybe a "smarvo" (chinese generic) but all tube !!!
all i'm saying is that every ear has different tone catching waves... (dont know if that came wrong but i hope you can understand it...)
