    overdrive! The world's best option for those with:
    •not enough gain
    •no channel switching
    •no foot-switchable boost
    •no midrange
    •weak pickups
    •no way to crank the master

    or for anyone looking to generally make their amp reach new levels of awesomeness

    for some reason I still like my overdrive pedal even though my amp does have gain, plenty of mids, and channel switching.

      I didn't think of tuner until misterwhizzy mentioned it. Otherwise, I would have said "delay".
      I am so close to retirement that I could play in a band full time. All I have to do is figure out what to use instead of money, improve my playing, learn some songs, and find some other musicians more talented than me who will do exactly as they're told. .
