    Re: Show your amp guts

Yeah, I don't know much about amp construction but that last one looks ****ing beautiful.
    I remember calloused hands and paint-stained jeans, and I remember safe-as-houses self-belief.

        Re: Show your amp guts

I'm sorry it took me so long to post these. I left my tools at the store.

I know it's hard to tell, but these aren't actually pictures of my amp. They are photos of someone else's amp, but there is one just like this in a store I went into two weeks ago and I could have one exactly like this if I paid for it.
I am so close to retirement that I could play in a band full time. All I have to do is figure out what to use instead of money, improve my playing, learn some songs, and find some other musicians more talented than me who will do exactly as they're told. .

I get weak in the knees at the sight of a vintage Fender amp!

                    Re: Show your amp guts

Here's an older gut shot of my Metropoulos Plexi. The two channels are now internally jumped, a switch for the "1-wire-mod" replaces one of the input jacks, another switch changes the cathode cap so that one of the channels is cold-biased (ala JC800 and Soldanos), and I've subsequently added power scaling.
