  • If you use 2 delay pedals, does order matter?

If you have 2 delay pedals turned on at the same time, one set for a short doubling guitar type sound and the other set for long delays... does it matter which comes first in the chain?

Short delay before long delay, or vice versa? Will it make a difference?

    Interesting.

Never tried it. Would have to think short b4 long. otherwise you would have short beeps in a long cycle?

I started to think about this..... now my brain hurts

by the way Joe Satriani uses 2 or 3 delays and a chorus pedal to achieve some of his signature tones..... and if I remember correctly its short into long.

Each way will yield a difference.
There is no right or wrong, try it both ways and see what works best for you.

Get 4 delay pedals to do both ways

Actually, you'd only need three delays to get it both ways... S-L-S, first two on and third off; or first off and second two on.

As a matter of preference I run short into long ..... more importantly, digital into analog.
I am so close to retirement that I could play in a band full time. All I have to do is figure out what to use instead of money, improve my playing, learn some songs, and find some other musicians more talented than me who will do exactly as they're told. .

just make sure you wind your watch up or you will be late for work.

True but you need 4 to go digital long into analog short, analog long into digital short, digital long into digital short, analog long into analog short, and vice versa.

I don't wear a watch, but I leave for work extra early so the delays don't put me into heavy traffic. Even so, one of my delays has tap tempo so I could speed up if necessary.
