Re: Musicians friend stupid deal heads up!!
Bogner may have temporarily lowered the price on the 1x12 to move old units because as of 2 weeks ago you could get it EVERYWHERE for 499. Now it's back up to at least 699 no matter where you look

Re: Musicians friend stupid deal heads up!!
I just went to the site and clicked on it...when you put it in your cart (the head model) the price shows up as $899, but then it adds a $400 discount making the final price the advertized Stupid Deal price of $499.
This is a no brainer if you want a really great sounding tube amp...so many really good tones in there from sparkley and warm to sonic mayhem. The crunch is fabulous. And it has several built-in reverb types which are very good sounding (I prefer over my stomp reverbs) and several delays which are actually really good. I bought mine when they first came out for about $800 or so. I own 6 tube amps and the Alchemist has the best tone of all of them.
At $700 this would be a great buy. At $499 it's a steal, and a no-brainer.
If you've even been remotely contemplating an Alchemist, now's the time to jump.Originally Posted by IanBallard

Re: Musicians friend stupid deal heads up!!
Currently I have a head and a 2x12 combo. I was planning on getting an extension cab for the head though. I like the grab & go aspect of combos, but have never had the head & cab before. I might like the versatility of a cab (open/closed backs, speakers, etc), though I wouldn't know til I bought one.
