Delay elay elay lay lay ay ay y y...

I can't get enough delay. There's something about the way the repeats get progressively darker as they decay... and the beautiful modulation... Nothing makes me happy in the pants like a beautiful woman, but my Memory Lane Jr is a close second.

Tough call between reverb and tremolo. I voted for reverb, though.

          wheres the Fuzz?
really short delay makes your guitar sound huge
stretch it out and you just sound like Edge

          it is cool

          reverb fattens tone

          chorus makes basses sound enormous

envelope filter makes for some weirdness

          but yea delay is cool

Fuzz isn't an effect. No dirt in this poll.

              Fuzz is an effect...

If you like delay...and I mean really like delay you need a tape echo unit just be warned...as soon as you get one ALL pedal delay units will become useless and will sound fake and cheep!

Flanger! My favorite Flanger is an early 80's Ibanez, FL-9.

                    Re: Favorite effect?

I voted Tremolo. It's my very very favorite, and definitely an "effect" to me. Nothing but nothing beats a warbly lopsided up and down volume pulse at exactly the right moment (and speed/depth).

I put chorus as a close second. So many flavors tones possible.

Reverb is not n effect! It is a necessity. Hell - it's what a lot of you probably use your Delays for!!!!

                      Re: Favorite effect?

For me I voted reverb just for the fact that it is always on (my amp has its own internal reverb). But I guess for pedals it would be a toss up between tremolo and delay.

                        Re: Favorite effect?

Reverb is an effect same as tremolo or flanging or anything else.

It's just that some guys feel like they have to have it on all the time...

I like a LOT of reverb every once in a while...using it like an effect as opposed to having a little on all the time...like this!

                          Re: Favorite effect?

I don't use an awful lot of FX. I guess that phaser is probably the one I use most, followed by a bit of 'vibe, delay and wah.

I like to have a bit of phaser movement on my sound on certain tunes...

I am so close to retirement that I could play in a band full time. All I have to do is figure out what to use instead of money, improve my playing, learn some songs, and find some other musicians more talented than me who will do exactly as they're told. .
