Thanks for the feedback! I'll look into the issue with the foam.

If anyone buys one for their Rockman rig, it would be interesting to know. The Rockmodules and XP series have a lot in common with modern modeling systems.

I wonder how these compare to regular PA amp, such as a Crown or similar. Obviously, the Crown wouldn't have a cab sim, but for use with a modeler and cab, the PA amp tends to be cheaper and more powerful. (Also, larger.)

Has anybody done an A/B of this and a Matrix power amp? They seem to be the main brand in this market.

I'da responded earlier but nothing came in my email notifications . These are impressive
                    specs . Thanks -

¿ Could I impose upon you one more favor to find the specs on the smaller amp ?

                    Happy New Year

I haven't A/B both amps, but I did have a Matrix for about a month. I work with support to try and get it to sound right with my Fractal AX-FX II XL. Tried all kinds of tweaking and adjustments to presets (which shouldn't be necessary, that was a red flag).

I hated it, it sounded flat and lifeless. I was using a Mesa 2:Ninety, so I did have a good reference. Needless to say, I sent the Matrix back.

I have used many amps since, but currently I have both the PowerStage 170 and 700. They both sound amazing right out of the box, no ****ing around necessary.

Also the PowerStage units seem to have much more headroom, like crazy loud without additional distortion. Even the 170 I've never had to full crank. I think I've had at about 2 o'clock at most.

Good to know! I believe the PowerStages were designed, in part, with modelers in mind.
