due to the fact that when I'm on the "American" channel of my Chubster 40, the volume actually starts to decrease once the pre gets up to '6' (with the master on 10). I'm using this approach in an attempt to sustain the clean as much as possible since this channel just can't keep up in a gig scenario.
According to Rivera, the magnet is too small on the stock speaker and as per their recommendation, replaced it with a Celestion V30 (pulled from my Avatar 2X12). The V30 in the Avatar was replaced with G12H30 (as this is reputed to be quite the combo).
I'm curious to see what effect this has on the Rivera. It's the perfect little amp if I can get that little bit of extra headroom....and it's not alot that I need. Just a smidge.
I'm headed to a gig now.....and will keep you all posted.
