Didn't Izzy usually use black face bassman heads with GnR? I know he did quite a bit, as I recall him talking about recording with them in interviews, but I'm not sure what specifcally he used on AFD. It may have been a Marshall? Anyway a BF Fender usually has no mid or presense knobs. The mids seem preset on about 4.

At the time I remember Izzy endorsing Carvin X-60 amps- sort of like a Mesa mark I clone

On Appetite Izzy used a Mesa/Boogie Mark III into a Carvin cab; I don't know what speakers were in it. On the AFD tour he ditched the Carvin for Mesa metal grill cabs with EVs & Celestion 90s.

Which is why many people play electric guitars but very very few of them are actually musicians.
