    Re: Need Help Changing Tubes!

A few years back I replaced all the preamp tubes in my Marshall with some old (tested fine) Mullards. I didn't notice much of any difference over the Sovteks. When I decided to switch them into my Park, it made a WORLD of difference.

It just could be your amp isn't that "picky."

Switch the preamp tubes around from v1 to v2 to v3.

Right now, my Marshall has a Mullard in v1 and Sovteks in v2 and v3. The Park has the Mullards in v1 and v2 and a Sovtek in v3- sounds great.

      My bad...it's a Traynor!!!

Swapped the tubes out and it sounds great...real chewy. I have not cranked it though and won't be able to until the weekend when I'll give a further detailed report.
