Pretty sure my first introduction to metal was borrowing the first Iron Maiden album from our local library in Chester for the princely sum of 25p, back in the days when libraries used to have racks of vinyl. It was the sleeve that caught my eye as I'd never heard of the band. I expect I taped it (but bought it later obviously!) as the first metal album I bought was Killers, which had recently come out. The track that really hooked me? Phantom of The Opera

It likely would have been something my dad was listening to. I recall him listening to Deep Purple, particularly "Smoke on the Water," when I was young.

On another note, those pickups would look fantastic in my p-bass.
