Are you using clear coat over that paint? I had a problem with Krylon clear coat developing spider web cracks over time

Clearcoat type depends on the type of paint that I'm using. Typically I'm using either Minwax Polyurethane or lacquer.

                  Re: Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

Wasn't bonding with the Blonde shimmer or the Air Zone in it.. decided I wanted to try for Fender's Shoreline Gold. Duplicolor's Mocha Frost Metallic got me close.

Replaced the Dimarzio Air Zone with a GFS Crunchy PAT. I'll move the Air Zone to something else soon enough I'm sure.

I thought this was a Tele thread. Curses! That strat looks great though. I have to ask, would you feel as confident refinishing a guitar if it was a $2,000 one?

Nope. I do make mistakes occasionally and have to fix them... and if I totally screw something up, a Squier body is only worth about $35 or so.

(I have one body in the garage where the paint reacted badly, and then the stripper I used didn't work that well, so it needs to be completely sanded down to the wood, sealed, primed, painted, etc. I can spend 5 hours of prepwork alone on that P.O.S. or I can move on to another body.)
