I've found as I've gotten older and my hearing and tinnitus have gotten worse, that I really like the neck and middle positions of ALL of my guitars a lot more than I used to.
My Goldtop Deluxe with 2 Tonerider Alnico II P-90's just sounds fantastic in the middle position.

In the middle position I'll often do this:

          Bridge Volume: 10
          Bridge Tone: 10
          Neck Volume: 4
          Neck Tone: 0

You get a really warm classic rock sound, perfect for rythym stuff.
i love to take the bridge tone roll it all the way off but have both pups volumes full up. gives a very cool fat warm tone with overdrive
