Are you able to swap a Warmoth or other next to these?

SX guitars are great for the price.

            Just be aware -

The neck pocket is slightly wider than standard. Just about 2 1/4 rather than 2 3/16.
The stringthrough holes are staggered.. meaning you will not be able to put any other bridge on it.

              Re: I want a Tele...

I'm not going to put down SX, my son's first bass was a short-scale SX Jazz, and it's a solid (and very cool) little bass. He moved up to a Squire CV P-Bass when he outgrew the short scale.

However, the SX is kind of a dead-end for the reasons stated above. If you're set on a blue Esquire, I suggest saving up for a used MIM an Agave Blue, then swapping the pickguard and upgrading the electronics over time (if needed). That's how the one I showed above came into being. The big advantage of MIM is, it's NOT a dead end; you can upgrade and swap parts ad infinitum to turn it into the guitar you really want. Yes, used MIMs cost more than an SX, but they have an essentially infinite life, whereas the SX will get outgrown and then offer no upgrade path other tha selling ot off.

Also, if you shop around for a MIM in the color you want, rather than planning on painting an SX as soon as you get it, you'll save yourself WAY more than the cost difference in aggravation and heartache.

Oh yeah, SXs are terrible mod platforms. You are stuck with the neck and the bridge. If you are going to mod something, make it Fender compatible.

I've modded the necks and bridges on two SX's without any trouble. All you need is skill.

I am so close to retirement that I could play in a band full time. All I have to do is figure out what to use instead of money, improve my playing, learn some songs, and find some other musicians more talented than me who will do exactly as they're told. .

Of course you want a tele. Even uber pointy metal heads want a tele. What did Hendrix want from god when he passed? A tele.

If you're talking about Kisakae then you have to take a screenshot and crop it down in MS Paint or something similar.
