  • what do you think of my frankentele?

Thought I'd post some pics of my frankentele that I put together a month or so ago. I always liked the striped bumblebee look, but also really like the heavy relic look, and old charvel single-humbucker guitars in general. I'm also a huge tele guy, so the idea of a humbucker in a hardtail tele with a strat neck just sounded cool to me.

    Let me know your thoughts!

Yeah, that's where the similarity ends--- no floyds for me. Plus it'd be alot of work to have it routed out, have a floyd nut put on there, etc.

                Glad you like it!

Re: what do you think of my frankentele?

It's a parchment colored Duncan '78 trembucker that I got from BachToRock. It's a mean sumbich... Gotta put some 9-46's on it, it has 9-42's on it and I wanna really rail on those lower strings a bit...

The neck is a Warmoth with the 10-16" compound radius with those really low gibson size frets and it's just stupid easy to play.

I actually have it up for sale for parts over on TGP since I'm thinking of just focusing on playing my #1 tele instead. But now I'm wondering if I should keep it in the stable rather than sell it.

That would have so been a player in the Ultimate SDUG refin or tele polls

If I end up holding on to it, I'm thinking of putting a nickel covered neck pickup in it and relicing the s&%t out of the cover to match the rest of the guitar. Something that's got some bite to it, or something w/ a sweet warm sound. I don't know... just something w/ alot of character. Thinking Phat Cat, Seth, Ant, A2P....
