I have an epiphone les Paul and the neck is coated in this urethane crap and when I sweat it gets pretty sticky not like gooey but stop and go sticky. I heard you can take steel wool to it but have never done it. Mind sharing some techniques/experiences thanx

Re: Neck troubles!
The problem with steel wool or any such kind of scuffing is that it eventually polishes up from playing. For a natural feel without much friction, stripping the neck and applying oil finish is the way to go. You can use a chemical stripper or a heat gun - the latter is quicker and easier for poly (and less messy) but you have to be careful so you don't create burn marks in the wood.
