    Okay guys, dumb question:

    Working on wiring up the pickguard for my Strat project right now, but thinking ahead...

    Should I attach the neck BEFORE the bridge (vintage-style tremolo), or after? My gut's telling me "before," but I'd sure like some confirmation (or correction).

            Best not over think it buddy. Just screw it all together and start turning things until it works right.

            If its a kit guitar or frankestrat you may need to align the neck but you can do that after the strings are on.

                Wiring's done, just need to add pickups (about 2 weeks). Tested all the settings with a multi-meter and seems good! [emoji1303]

                    thanks. I really like the way that one turned out as well. I have one more tele body I'm working on, but it needs a few more coats of nitro before I take any pics of it.

                            Here's my budget Frankenstrat so far! It's got a '97 fernandes neck and a '98 MIM body.
                            Countless amounts of research put in...
                            Going to drop a single invader in it, either some GFS locking tuners or Grover Rotomatic minis. Single 500k volume pot, trying to get all black hardware.

                            Hopefully it works out dude!

                              With budget hardware you frequently get what you pay for. I had a set of those GFS locking tuners on a Tele, and the locking mechanism only worked on 4 of the 6 tuners. You can get a used set of Gotoh SG38s for around the same price (roughly $30) and they're far better tuners. Provided that you're not actually going to use the trem on that guitar, I'd take a set of those Gotohs over the GFS locking tuners or new production Grovers.
