I heard from a good source that these guitars pack a lot of punch for the dollar. What have you heard about them? Do you own one ? If you do tell us about them and show a pic or two.

IMO they are Great guitars. Especially at the price point. Id say they are similar in build quality to Schecters. Im sure they are probably made in the same factory as several other brands like Schecter.
I have had a couple and still have a Patriot custom I got one of the first ones when they were still coming with Tone pros bridges. Mine came with tone pros, grover keys, real flme top on mahogany body/neck. Fretwork is excellent, the stock pickups are even pretty good. I kept the stock neck, and I change pups on everything... Come with push pull pots and great nut too.
The thing that impressed me most, and this is such a stupid, small thing, but showed me the attention to detail. The wiring in the cavity was very clean and was all gathered up nice with a twist tie around it.

Here is the one I still have. added straplocks, and a Rio BBQ in the bridge. Took cover off front pup to match.

Ones I had and sold:

Patriot Q

Hex: (shredder)

Truth be told. Ive often thought to myself, if I would get realistic with myself, I should sell all my guitars and keep that one. Not saying its the best guitar I have, but its all I would need to gig with and it plays so good. My "better" guitars would get more money on resale.

Re: Michael Kelly guitars

I was out wandering down main street today and a store had some in stock. I sat down with a few of them, didn't plug them in, but I was impressed with the way they played. FWIW, I was mostly interested in the 1960s models. They are made in Korea, which is a plus to me over China or Indonesia (although I would like to try out one of the new Yamaha Pacificas which are made in China or Taiwan IIRC).

I went and checked them out online and they even have some new "mod shop" models that come with Bareknuckles, Duncan, or Fralin pickups for very reasonable prices. I'm looking for a non-Floyd strat type guitar and these have definitely made it to my consideration list if I don't go the Warmoth route.

Re: Michael Kelly guitars

I own a Patriot Limited and my experience mirrors BloodRose's.

Excellent guitars irrespective of price but especially so considering what they ask for 'em.
