  • Buy 1 prs S2 or buy a Prs SE zack Myers and a epi Brent hinds V?

I can either buy an S2 or buy both the imports. I have heard a lot of good about all 3. But sadly can not try any of them. I know the S2 is US made with import parts. I play everything from clean blues to 80's covers up to down tuned metal like corrosion of conformity. I don't really care about the signature aspect I just like the specs.

If the s2 is made with import parts may as well get the most for your buck and get the 2 import models. Only downside is that leaves a possibility of twice as many parts to upgrade.

Neither. Since you're in the States, go to Craigslist and pick up something from the core PRS line. Around me I can see a CE24, a DGT, and McCarty, all of them around the price of a new S2 Custom 22.

The S2 are well made and play great, but if I was spending that much on a single guitar, I'd rather buy a lightly used PRS core series, as well.

The Brent Hinds V looks killer and I was one of the first to try the Lace HammerClaw pickups when they came out...they're great! If it wasn't for the neck profile, I'd definitely own one already.

Speaking of neck profiles, it appears from your selection of guitars here that you prefer a fuller/thicker neck profile?

I don't really have a preference for neck profiles. As long as they aren't super thin. I would rather be able to just buy something. But I am going to have to put it on a sweetwater card. I would like to have a prs core but they are way out of my price range. My budget is $1500 there are a lot of choices in that price range. But I won't buy another Gibson without being able to try first. Although I would like to have another firebird.
I know having multiple guitars set up different would be better. Than trying to get all those different sounds out of one guitar.

Not that the S2 or SEs are bad, because they are definitely not, but if you are already up to $1,500, you are close to a very discounted CU24 and you can easily score an older CE24. The CE's are supposedly great, I've never read a bad thing about them.

I've tried one S2 that was killer and about 3 others that were monumentally meh, with a monumental price.
I'd have the Brent Hinds V just because it's pure pornography.

You can find them used in short order on ebay at that price. I prefer the Custom 22 personally. I had one years ago that was pricier due to the top, but ultimately decided that I would rather have 2 of something else rather than one expensive guitar I was afraid to scratch.
