  • NGD – My first Gibson Les Paul!

    Hi guys,

I've been playing guitar for quite some time and usually look at the classifieds for used guitars and amps that may be good offers. Some of you may remember my previous posts, where I was debating within a new Epi for less than 500bucks or a new Gibson below one-grand, or if to buy a used Gibson in decent condition and at a good price. Well, it looks like I was able to accomplish all three. I found a Gibson at an Epi price and great condition; in fact, I think it may have only been played few times.

It is a 2016 Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded with an emerald-gold top, so it’s unique; the color changes as you look at it from different angles. It came with all the goodies that the brand new guitar comes with, plus a spare set of strings (it already had new strings), a Gibson “Guitar Care Pack” and the most valuable item any guitar player could have. I’m talking about something with supranatural power, that’s right, above supernatural, that is: The Pick of Destiny!

No more talking (or writing) and more pictures. For the full specs go here http://www.gibson.com/Products/Elect...px#LPSTFOSECH1

    Enjoy!

Oh man, that is a secksay color. Congrats!

BTW, Gibson did issue studio line guitars with a similar colour scheme before, in the early 2000's. Back then it was called "blue teal flip-flop", and it would shift between something greenish and purplish, IIRC.

Its called "Rounded '59 neck profile", for whatever that means. All I know is that is a beefy neck with a great feel.

That is why the guy was advertising it as "with flip-flop paint job", I never understood until now. Yes, the color shifts with the incident light.

Up until a few years ago, Gibson guitars basically came with two neck profiles: slim (or 60's style) or fat (50's style). They have a few more variations these days, but I'm guessing the basic neck profiles are roughly the same.

Cool that you found something that you liked.

So, did you find out any details on the finish? Looks like someone did some kind of see through green over the original gold top. I liked it in the other thread and I like it now. Very cool and unique.

Definitely think that one was better than that Faded Burst you were also considering....

That's a real nice guitar, especially how the colour changes depending how the light hits it. I own a 2008 Gibson LP Studio (black) that sounds fantastic with the chambered body. It's a guitar that has great bang for the buck.
