  • OLD GUITAR SPECS?

I have a MIM Tele, and I see on Fender's website how to date it based on the serial number. But does anyone know how to determine the actual specs ... you know - body wood species etc.
I am so close to retirement that I could play in a band full time. All I have to do is figure out what to use instead of money, improve my playing, learn some songs, and find some other musicians more talented than me who will do exactly as they're told. .

Email them with the serial number and they will give you a report with all that info.

Yes, the first step is to determine what model it actually is.

Usually you can look at a catalog from that year and find it.
