I am unfamiliar with the brand but that Kiko model checks a lot of boxes for me. I like your new axe also

Yeah I liked it (Tagima KIko model) a whole lot more than his Ibanez models which are pretty much just classic Saber's....nothing new/different about them. I'm a longtime Angra (& powermetal) fan so I was pretty much a Kiko admirer right from the get-go. In fact I've never even heard him in Megadeth (or heard anything by Megadeth that I've cared about since Rust in Peace). I remember that axe cuz it looked so different/cool.

Apparently Tagima is massive in Brazil...and in my humble opinion Brazilian & Finnish guitarists are the best shredder's in the world today.

So they know how to make a great guitar

And a bluesy ballad wih the neck-middle notch position which is insanely touch sensitive & Stratty sounding..

      Marshall JVM...

Nice Tagima. I'm not at all familiar with it but it looks very nice. I'm not much into the curly maple veneer top, but the back, neck, and fretboard are awesome.

            Thanks

Yeah, fanastic slabs of wood for the body & fingerboard/neck, Pup's sound incredible too & everything pretty much screams quality...

Tbh, the top was what caught my eye first when I saw it on a stand near the guy in the store. I like those kinda 2-colour QM "fade-into-each-other" finishes that a lot of guitars have these days, but this combination was different from the usual blue/lemon yellow, red/cream, blue/green etc ones you see generally (which can sometimes be a tad gaudy)...so it caught my eye. But then what really impressed me was the sweet-yet-bitey tone and sustain...and luckily the guy could play so it was easier to pick up on...

I was super happy/relieved when he left....leaving this axe behind

Plus, yeah the fact that it was a Tagima got me curious. As I said I like Kiko's playing in Angra so to see a Tagima here was kinda cool. Don't think I've ever come across one before, though the guy at the store said he'd had a bunch of them come in last year ..all different models. This was actually the last one he had.

Could'nt be happier that I snagged it

More tapping & shreddig neoclassical fun....

Very fun axe to play 'cuz of how responsive & cuz of the sick overtones & the way it wails....

Also between this axe and the Xiphos I think they also kinda influence my playing ..like...with this one I play a bit looser , obviously w/ more bends and stuff & my playing has a rockier vibe (Uli Roth/Blackmore-style) whereas with the Xiphos...it actually does ssound more rigid/structured/modern (like Suicmez from Necrophagist..ok, he sweeps and I tap ..but structurally...that sort of modern linear rigidness.). When I play this axe (Tagima) I'm rocking out more and with the Xiphos it's more "metal". Probably has nothing to do w/ the way they play 'cause they both play like butter so Is it a psychological thing (?) or just ease/comfort w/ the thinner/strings and stuff.....who knows?

                Same track w/ my Xiphos..

Trippy Swamp Rock w/ the middle-bridge notch position selected....

Biting highs, raspy clanky mids, clear deep lows...just love this axe's tone!

Also the touch sensitivity, dynamics & responsiveness is out of this world. Contrary to popular (ie. wrong ) opinion you don't only get that when you're playng clean or w/ bugger-all gain

I've seen Tagima's here in Texas in a few shops. They have their flagship line made in Brazil and they also have a line made in Asia under the same name. Really good quality instruments actually. The electronics in the imports are OK, not the best. Their Brazilian stuff is great though.

This is actually an exceptional guitar...not just for the price. Feature-wise you don't get most of this stuff on $4000+ guitar's. (one piece real/African Mahogany body.. c'mon!)..and that "Bolivian Rosewood" fingerboard sheeet ..don't get me started on that! I could just sit and gape at it for hours

Was'nt kidding when I said I got very lucky with this one...

                        That's ^^ a nice colour in the video too...but I prefer mine

Power metal w/ the neck pup...

what's cool /weird is how both pup's (neck and bridge, have'nt really used/checked the middle one yet) go into wailing"sustainiac-style" harmonic overdrive when you bend and hold a note like it's nothing....and that's despite the bridge being a humbucker & the neck being a single coil..they both do it equally well...

I really love guitar's that do that

...the sustain this guitar has is unreal!
