Music store visit w/ happy ending :)

Plus, yeah the fact that it was a Tagima got me curious. As I said I like Kiko's playing in Angra so to see a Tagima here was kinda cool. Don't think I've ever come across one before, though the guy at the store said he'd had a bunch of them come in last year ..all different models. This was actually the last one he had.

Could'nt be happier that I snagged it :D

More tapping & shreddig neoclassical fun....

Very fun axe to play 'cuz of how responsive & cuz of the sick overtones & the way it wails....

Also between this axe and the Xiphos I think they also kinda influence my playing ..like...with this one I play a bit looser , obviously w/ more bends and stuff & my playing has a rockier vibe (Uli Roth/Blackmore-style) whereas with the Xiphos...it actually does ssound more rigid/structured/modern (like Suicmez from Necrophagist..ok, he sweeps and I tap ..but structurally...that sort of modern linear rigidness.). When I play this axe (Tagima) I'm rocking out more and with the Xiphos it's more "metal". Probably has nothing to do w/ the way they play 'cause they both play like butter so Is it a psychological thing (?) or just ease/comfort w/ the thinner/strings and stuff.....who knows? :bigthumb:

Same track w/ my Xiphos..

Trippy Swamp Rock w/ the middle-bridge notch position selected....

Biting highs, raspy clanky mids, clear deep lows...just love this axe's tone!

Also the touch sensitivity, dynamics & responsiveness is out of this world. Contrary to popular (ie. wrong :laugh2:) opinion you don't only get that when you're playng clean or w/ bugger-all gain :D

I've seen Tagima's here in Texas in a few shops. They have their flagship line made in Brazil and they also have a line made in Asia under the same name. Really good quality instruments actually. The electronics in the imports are OK, not the best. Their Brazilian stuff is great though.

This is actually an exceptional guitar...not just for the price. Feature-wise you don't get most of this stuff on $4000+ guitar's. (one piece real/African Mahogany body.. c'mon!)..and that "Bolivian Rosewood" fingerboard sheeet ..don't get me started on that! :lmao: I could just sit and gape at it for hours :bigthumb:

Was'nt kidding when I said I got very lucky with this one...

That's ^^ a nice colour in the video too...but I prefer mine :p

Power metal w/ the neck pup...

what's cool /weird is how both pup's (neck and bridge, have'nt really used/checked the middle one yet) go into wailing"sustainiac-style" harmonic overdrive when you bend and hold a note like it's nothing....and that's despite the bridge being a humbucker & the neck being a single coil..they both do it equally well...

I really love guitar's that do that :bigthumb:

...the sustain this guitar has is unreal!

Tagima axe w/ my PRS ArchonMk II & Laney 2x12 w/ Greenback 25's..

Power/melodic metal...

Have'nt played around that much w/ this amp since I got the JVM, so it was nice to crank it up for a change :bigthumb:

JVM 410 w/ my Charvel Pro Mod for a bit of variety. TC Electronic Spark boost in front..

I probably like this pedal best in front of the JVM for solo's. Cuts through like the Boss SD-1 but with more body pretty much leaving your original tone unchanged..except that it 'pops' more in a mix & sounds a hair sweeter..

Another track w/ the JVM. This one's w/ the TC Electronic Mojo Mojo instead of the Spark. I kinda prefer it in general to the Spark cuz it's really warm & earthy/organic sounding..just makes your tone sweeter I guess, despite being very tight/precise. Warmer mids & a little less glassy in the highs than the Spark, which with the right guitar sounds fantastic :bigthumb:

It IS a bit tricky to dial in though..the Spark is quicker to work with..

Every time I pick up this guitar I realize just how happy that music store visit's ending really was :lmao:

Long blues rock jam with the middle-bridge notch position selected..

Ilove both notch positions and the awesome raspy/stratty tones w/ this axe...

Also, the Mojo Mojo is hard to beat when you dial it in right :bigthumb:

And of course... the JVM's the JVM :D

I have the Gain on OD-2 down at about 11:00 o'clock..cuz I'm using it with my pedals (OD's & boosts) and unlike most I tend to crank the gain knob up on the pedals (along w/ the level knob) rather than have it turned down all the way..it sounds better imo for recording at lower volume levels.

And some sweet $60 tone from my Juarez Strat :bigthumb:

JVM & Mojo Mojo..same as the last video..

Just a wild guess but eh, maybe, just maybe .....$60 tone is in the fingers :18:

Same thing again, but with my Brutus Live head/Eminence Legend GB128 1x12...

Things pretty much started out on a good (infinity) note (heh..'lil pun there:D) with the amp going into some beautiful/seamless harmonic overdrive ..I could've held that sucker till the end of the video if I felt like it :bigthumb:

Anyway ..always a pleasure plugging anything into my Brutus Live. It's a fantastic amp!

My old PC from 2014 was giving me a bunch of problems, like cutting out/switching off suddenly etc and also had no space left...

So it was time for a new one...

Pretty much the same thing w/ an updated 14th gen Intel i5 processor & 3 TB's of storage so I'll probably die of old age before I run out of space :p

Also came w/ Windows 11, which does'nt seem to be too different from the Windows 10 that my old PC was running.. Does'nt come with an updated Windows Moviie Maker which kinda sucks. I d/l'd some free video editing thing I found. It works fine but is nowhere near as easy/straightforward to use as my old WMM in Windows 10..

Anyway, here's my first recording/video w/ the new PC>

i've got a lot of files and programs to transfer to it from the old one as well. Including my all Reaper projects, Ozone Mastering, guitar pics and some other family/personal stuff that should be a royal PIA and take me a while to get done. But all in all it's a relief having something that works properly :bigthumb:
