Pearly Gates Identification

I have a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucker here and I am trying to determine if it is a neck or bridge pickup.

It has a sticker on the back that reads PGNG. I haven't been able to find out what that means exactly, but I am guessing that it means it is a neck pickup.

Where I am confused is that I acquired the pickup in a used guitar that I had bought about 10 years ago. This pickup was installed in the bridge position, so it would seem odd to install a neck pickup in the bridge position (especially since the seller told me that the Fender custom shop installed the pickups).

Is PGNG sufficient for identifying the pickup?

Re: Pearly Gates Identification

Yes it is. The PG portion of course stands for Pearly Gates. The N indicates it's a neck pickup. The G is the initial of the person at Seymour Duncan who wound the pickup. So you do have a real deal SD PG(n) pickup.

It is somewhat unusual for it to be installed in the bridge if it was done by a guitar manufacturer, but people move pickups around all the time and lots of people like bridge pickups in the neck and neck pickups in the bridge. As long as it sounds good to you, it's fine.

Hope this helps you, and welcome to the forum.
