        Microsoft patented 'Windows', which is by nature is not even a brand name. I think the same logic or lack thereof, applies to the double cream case.

              mm.. i used to work at Channellock and the color of their blue grips is trademarked, it's called "channellock blue." That EXACT mixture of color to make blue is trademarked. Maybe DiMarzio should make "DiMarzio creme" and it should be limited to that exact creme color, that could leave other manufacturers to make a cream color that is slightly different and not just stark white. Besides, who "knows" dimarzio for their double creme? not i... first time I saw double cream was on Jimmy Page's #1 and that was a PAF, a gibson... I would be more inclined to name a humbucker that was double white a gibson paf...
