Re: Duncan lineup for a Bluesy Strat

I guess what I REALLY want to know is:

What is the best Lil' that I can pair with the SSL1's, for single start sounds in the bridge when split! (Whew - tough to figure out what I even wanted to know!!!!)

I want a Lil' that will MOSTLY be run in split/single mode, but that I MIGHT pop into 'Bucker mode. As for the Bucker, 59, Demon, JB, PG, whatever…doesn't matter.

The DiMarzio BC-2 sounds exceptional split, but it's rails, and not SD.

You might want to try a Lil 59 or if your feeling frisky why not try a twangbanger in the bridge or a Quarter Pounder?

          SSL1's or SSL2's. I have SSL'1 on mine.

I gotta give a shout out to the Cool Rails. It's a unique pup in the "Lil" series of HB'ers.

I tried going "all vintage single coil" in my strat for a while. Then I tried an SSL-5 bridge, then several other hot single coil bridges. I'm now back to a CustomCustom bridge and 2 Fat 50's singles. A bit weird since it is Eddie VanHalen, SRV, and surf music in one guitar, but I couldn't live with a bridge pickup I saw little use for.

I do miss the SSL-5 sometimes when I want to play Gilmour.

Use a baseplate on a single coil in the bridge, and of course use one of the many wiring configurations to ensure the bridge pup has a tone control.

(no, it does not sound like a Telecaster with a baseplate).

                  ^^ Yep.

SSL1/2 as mentioned, or StraBro90 if you've got coin.
