Still Stratty sounding, or full on humbucker?

Mine is wired old school...straight to volume, no tone. It sounds like a Really great, full on humbucker.

          I'd really like to know

          RD vs Lil' PG
          RD vs Lil 59
          and some neck/middle reviews
It’s more jagged, rough and ready, open and airy than my JB Jr or Little ‘59. Sounds less compressed, so it’s not as smooth...I mean this in a good way.

It’s mid forward, where the little 59 is mid back. It doesn’t have piercing highs or boomy lows. It’s friggin’ fabulous.

this was a jam band gig for maybe 300 people. lots of styles of music and lots of room to stretch out and explore tones

I'm in. Been wishy washy about putting a 'bucker in my Strat bridge for well over a year, sounds like this is the one.

Last question, it's not stupid hot is it? I don't really want to change out the Texas Special middle & neck.

I agree completely with Jeremy. I only have the bridge pickup and have zero volume issues with my 2007 stock American Standard middle and neck pickups.

What is the EQ like on these things? If you had to give bass, mid, treble a number...and what full size humbucker do they most resemble?

Bass 6, Mid 7, Treble 4. It sounds a lot like my wax potted Gibson Burstbucker to me.

Interesting. The PAFs in my '62 SG/LP are very dependent on their position. The neck is similar to what you describe, but the bridge is like bass 3, mid 6, treble 8, very much like a Telecaster.

If that is accurate- I'd love it. That doesn't sound like a old Gibson humbucker to me, though...I'd put that more like 7, 5, 7.

Apologies...I should have written that it sounds a lot like my wax potted Gibson Burstbucker 2 that I have in my Les Paul Special. I have edited my previous post. I realize that people say the Bursbuckers are bright but mine is not. It's wax potted and perhaps that's why not. I don't have to change EQ on my amp at all when I switch guitars and there's not a HUGE difference in tone between the two.

Mostly, it just sounds like an awesome, well made full size humbucker. I totally recommend it.

Has anyone compared the specs of these versus the Little Pearly Gates? AFAIK they share the same design goals have the same magnet underneath.
