  • 7 string pickup

I love the Dimarzio Paf 7. Has just the right amount of everything, except for compression. I need just a little bit more of it. Is there a Duncan equivalent with a bit more compression? I want to stay as low output as I can, and I know most of the time, you have to go higher output for more compression.

    Re: 7 string pickup

I assume this is for the bridge position?

    EDIT: Sorry, having browser issues...

The PAF 7 is the same whether it's used for neck or bridge.

For a similar sound and feel with a little more compression, check out the Blaze Neck and Titan 7 Neck pickups. The only reason they are labeled "neck" pickups is because they were mated to much hotter bridge models by the same name. They would work well in the bridge, as well.

From Duncan, look at the Alpha 7 neck pickup

Chris Poland is known for using neck pickups in the bridge position.

Check our the DiMarzio Imperium. It’s mid-output, very clear, great clean, great balls out heavy, splits very well.
