  • Something a little different

The part of my life that doesn't revolve around wishing I was a rock star is spent at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory studying brass performance. I recently won the school's concerto competition, meaning I get to perform this particular solo with the orchestra in a month or so. If anyone is interested, below is the live competition recording, warts and all. The piece is British composer Philip Wilby's Concerto for Euphonium.

    Enjoy!

Outstanding performance on what sounds like a very difficult piece. Also ... excellent tone and dynamics!!
I am so close to retirement that I could play in a band full time. All I have to do is figure out what to use instead of money, improve my playing, learn some songs, and find some other musicians more talented than me who will do exactly as they're told. .
