  • First clip post for me

I've never posted a clip in here before because I never had anything I felt was worthy of sharing. But it occurs to me that nobody actually has any idea if I can play or not, so...

Here's the first (and only, so far) video upload on my band's brand new YouTube channel. The stage was tiny in this venue with the skinny side facing the patrons, so not much room for a 5-piece band! I'm in front, on the left, playing rhythm only for this song on my semi-hollow (Ibanez Artcore AS83 with P-Rails). The lead player is stuck behind the singer/percussionist, but he's playing a stock 2015 Gibson Explorer.

    Hope you like it!

Sounds good to me ... especially for a live recording! What amp are you using?
I am so close to retirement that I could play in a band full time. All I have to do is figure out what to use instead of money, improve my playing, learn some songs, and find some other musicians more talented than me who will do exactly as they're told. .

Thanks... we have fun! The amp is a Fender Champion 100, but I have my Zoom G5 going into it for dirt.

Thanks! This band was relatively popular up until a little over a year ago when both their guitarists quit. The one had a real ego problem, refusing to turn down even though the bar owners and patrons were saying he was too loud. He up and quit on them after doing some damage to the band's reputation, and other guitarist quit right after because he didn't want to step up to the lead.

I've been in the band since October, and our other guitarist joined a few weeks later. He and I were in another band together previously with a bassist who had too much ego.

It's fun because none of us are great... just good. But this group of guys are humble and fun-loving... and I think that's the reason that the whole ended up being greater than the sum of its parts. This was our second time out together, and we had two more gigs booked... a party in June and a street festival in August. Now, ten days later, we have 6 more gigs lined up and the calls are still coming!
