I don't mind doing Spain, if you cover shipping and customs.
On the other hand, I'm about to talk myself out of selling this. This might be badass in my new HSS Sterling Sub Cutlass.
And no, that's not meant as a cheap shot for pressure sales. Just saying.
It's almost impossible for the pup to cause this problem. I'd replace the string. Or the whole set.
P.S. I'm not sure how the string could cause this problem either. It's simply the more likely culprit than the pickup.
I've seen some that come apart easily, and some that don't. Just gently pry back the tabs, (red arrows, two per side), and the case / switch, should lift off.
If it could only be one . . . then it would probably my new EBMM Sterling Sub Series Cutlass. (What a mouthful!)
The HSS configuration is uber versatile.
Then again, it might only be that the "new" gleam hasn't worn off yet.
I thought his answer was pretty good, but then again, I'm not sure of the big picture. Are we talking about an HSS, with a P-Rails in the bridge? Or an HSH with P-Rails in the neck & bridge? Or something else?
I'd love a set, but I'm "thinning my herd" right now. If I had a set, they'd just sit in their box as a "collector" item. For installation in a guitar, I like my pups to look new. :p
And yes, the zebra's look badass.
I don't think I ever realized that before. But that makes sense. The JB/Jazz was originally made for the Tele-Gib, which would use 250k pots. I'll have to try that with my set.
Depends on the guitar/tuner/bridge style. With Klusons, just release tension and lift. But then I cut the pig-tail off to remove the string. I usually remove all. Never had a problem with that short term tension release.
