I can think of various things that might cause a finger to stink. A few of them are pleasant. The majority ain't. My guess is that you are thinking of a meaning that somebody like, just as a random example, Elton John or George Michael would appreciate.

Seeing I'd stuffed one of my Epi coils and then one of the Dimarzios , I made a hybrid of the remaining coils of each. The other point being Neo's in the DiMarzio coil; Ferrous oxide in the epi coil [ Alnico's are predominantly Ferrous Oxide. Mine aren't Alnicos ] I still need to feck around with it, but it works. The neos dominate but not to the point of nullifying the FeO's. So there you go, a magnet hybrid.
You wouldn't have a better coil than the Epi around, would you? The Dim is fine but the Epi is a bit trashay!

Guess what ? it's in. 18K wow.Plenty of output and sustain. It's a bit dark on the top end compared with my single coil in the back but single/dual may bring out the top end.They blend together pretty well. I've noticed on my single/ dual setups, humbucker mode drops the top end a bit. Not as noticable in parralell compared to series. That may depend on magnet orientation in the two coils but I haven't compared that yet. It looks good next to the single coil . It's white too. I will try and get a pic together.
THE STAGGER. It's different to the sixties fender I've got. The D and B magnets are different heights. D slightly lower, B a bit higher. How about that hey?

I'm wondering what Alnico one coil/ neodymium other coil would do. I tried mixing them in one coil and the neos overpowered the alnico. You end up with strings that can't be heard, weird ****.

Hi Adam;That was timed well. Le Stag Mag arrived today. **** that looks good. Checked out the polarity of the two rows of magnets. It's orientated North up/North coil, South up/south coil.
I think I will try it in the neck of the LP first. I remember reading a few comments in threads about them, being complimentary to the neck position.
I will try it in humbucker mode first and maybe give it a single/dual switch or even try the tapped pot thing again. That was an interesting setup.

I realized something about pole magnets in humbuckers. If all the poles are the same direction they sound like crap in series but fine in parralell [ that might also differ on how one connects it parralell ] Hot to the inner coil leads and tie together the two outer ones as return [ground] is what I use. I haven't tried it the other way, outer coils hot . I figure it may change the phase.
Orientate the magnets like a bar magnet, Positive to the top on one coil, negative to the top on the other and you get good series response. I haven't tried this orientation in parralell yet.
