  • Hope you're not yawning by now!!

Oh - looking at the messages I realised I'd missed the Aims thing - doh! Got caught up with work and my MTB racing - sport was what I took up after not playing guitar.

What's your background, and whats the genre mix of Melb forum members like?
    Thanks mate!

Here starteth the epic:-) I started playing in the early 90's (I was my early 20's then)....bit of a late start for most musicians but I'm not really naturally musical, so I've had to learn the hard way. Played for 8 years or so, couple of bands on the hard rock/grunge bandwagon and had a revolving door of bigger and better amps/pedals/guitars as I got better. So I've had guitars from all the main brands (as long as they're LH of course) and the main shapes. Then the band split and I got disillusioned.....and quit playing until earlier this year. I got bitten by the bug again, and hard! So I've slowly been building up the gear along with a few nice guitars and a pedalboard which didn't get sold off. I've had SD's since the old days, so it was natural to look on the net at the site - and here I am!!
my pleasure! was hoping to pick up a white distortion or something as well to go with it, but i didn't want to pay what he wanted for them

and yes you're right, i think i heard their baby/ies for the first time today. i'm pretty sure my upstairs neighbour has let them build a nest on her verandah.
but we're pretty cool now; i think we understand each other. i've found you get a lot of respect from birds by doing a semi-naked warrior dance when they swoop you hehehe

and no, if i were going to chuck it in i'd OD. or at least put a few garbage bags over my head first

Hi Warwick. The Truth's management was supposed to be Grant Thomas, that's who we signed with, but he passed us down to his younger brother Brent, while he focused on picking up Neil Finn's $$$ from around the world, understandably. But Brent was hopeless, not really a manager at all, and he struggled with the simplest things. Brent was a guitarist/songwriter, and as it turned out, just the younger brother of a good manager. By the time we dumped them, the damage was done.
yes it'll be coming out in favour of a GFS dream 90 and airzone combo cos i really liked that when i tried it, and am also wondering what a (half?)airbucked A8 would sound like.
am going to have to drill a couple more holes in this tele, cos the HB pickguard doesn't line up with most of the holes in the body which was assembled as a 2 soapbar deluxe kinda thing.

    That seems decidedly EVIL!
    forgive me.
just wanted to know if you were still interested; i figure the stagger might not bother you so much, considering you're probably going to de-pole it and neo it.
it (the stag mag) has a pretty pronounced stagger to the poles; do you know the fingerboard radius on your custom LP hollow thingy?
I'm going to post this in off topic. Thanks for the education on the history of Oz..
Sometimes saying abrasive stuff is the only way to learn things like this.At least for me.
You all DO still throw Boomerangs down at the Billabong while the Koalas attack the Kukkaburras trying to get the extra shrimp from the barbie?
Errr...obviously MM doesn't grasp that the majority of the population down here migrated here long after the original convicts were shipped here. Talk about broad generalisations.....
Vulture... we know all you Aussies have the Criminal Chromosome inbred into your genome DNA , but the great thing is, and something I firmly believe in, is that environment is just as important, or even more so , than Heredity!
Thats why not all that many of you there are very likely to become overt criminals..
And not only that, the deviant mind can be brilliant!
So I say what a fine thing to have this Prison Society join us here!
POerhaps don;t leave your wallet laying around, but other than that, jolly good blokes you mates are!
FIN: Best of luck with the residence search. Rents are not cheap these days unless you want to live in the sticks.
where are you getting the rubber piece from, have you had to track one down and order one in? hehe, go through a few clutches wazz?
I'm getting one from a guy I get all my Triumph parts from. Be here on Monday I hope.
U accusing me of being a hoon? Hahah. It got clogged up with the really fine dust we have up here. Clogged up all the grease in the thrust mechanism. Emmbedded itself in the Plate too! New plate, Reground fly wheel, new thrust bearing and fresh grease for the thrust assembly [ after cleaning it ] and fresh oil and a gasket for the gearbox. Had to re-do a bit of wiring on the over drive connections [ electric overdrive ].
I'm changing the exhaust and carbie manifolds. The exhaust one was cracked and the Carbies in it I didn't like. I'm actually putting in an older set [ trumps are twin carbies ].
I'd have to take all that out again to do the rubber coupling so I figured leave it until I do that.
